Symptoms of UTI or bladder infection are not easy to miss and include a strong urge to urinate that cannot be delayed which is followed by a sharp pain or burning sensation in the urethra when the urine is released. Most often very little urine is released and the urine that is released may be tinged with blood. The urge to urinate recurs quickly and soreness may occur in the lower abdomen, back, or sides.
This cycle may repeat itself frequently during the day or night--most people urinate about six times a day, when the need to urinate occurs more often a bladder infection should be suspected.
The urinary tract can be infected from above (by bacteria entering the kidneys from the bloodstream and traveling downward) or from below (bacteria entering the urethra and traveling upward). Most often, infections begin in the urethra and move up the urinary tract to the kidneys. Since a woman's urethra is shorter than a man's, women are more prone to urinary tract infections (UTIs) than men or children. One woman in five develops a UTI during her lifetime. UTIs in men, while not as common, can be very serious when they do occur
Good luck to all Women who are reading ;)
sexually inactive girls and women are susceptible to lower urinary tract infections because the anus, a constant source of bacteria, is so close to the female urethra. now you know why Mothers always wipe baby bottoms from front to back after bowel movements.
as for sexually active girls and women, make an effort to pee after intercourse to remove bacteria that was pushed into the urethra during sexual intercourse.
The above happens to me every now and then out of the blue, usually it just gets better after a day or two. but i decided to put a stop to this yesterday, finally... after delaying treatment for more than 2 years.
Okay... i didn't go to the doctor immediately, i stayed home and play Sims2 till 8.30 before i decided to move my ass.
A urine test confirmed our suspicion. it also shows that i have a high intake of protein, which i personally think is really bad. too much of it might have adverse effect you know.
the doctor was pretty shocked when i mentioned UTI. i heard of it before but had never (knew i) infected it.
2 main causes to my i'm infection:
1) Not frequenting the toilet often enough aka holding back the urge to pee.
2) Not drinking enough water.
The whole day i'm in the office, i couldn't even finish one small bottle of mineral water. so how the hell i have the urge to pee?! like what my boyfriend's mum says, go toilet just to take a sniff of other people's pee is it?
Not that i like to hold back the urge to pee, it's just that the sight of dirty public toilet puts me off so much i'd rather not use them. who says public toilets in shopping malls aren't that bad, it is that bad okay.
HOW TO GO TOILET LIKE THAT??? hahahaha
Okay, not funny.
And retaining urine will allow bacteria to thrive. sometimes the harmful bacteria keep spreading, it can damage the kidneys.
yes, the doctor did say to me luckily it isn't kidney infection.
Cure for UTI:

Had my dinner and took my medications immediately. Citravescent sucks big time, serious. i hate soda drinks the most and Citravescent is full of soda. one cup of the mixture is enough to make me belch so hard i'm near to throwing up.
but i got better right after i took my meds... so i shouldn't complain =p
I'm told to finish all antibiotics given... i don't want!!!
i used to throw up whenever i attempt to swallow one whole pill. then i started having a phobia... was in primary school back then, and pacifying me with sweets didn't work. the only way was to pound the pill in water till it's grainy.
1 pill at a time is such a chore, but i think 2 pills at one go will definitely cause me to throw up.
